Heaven (part 2)
So what’s Heaven like and why would we ever want to leave it to incarnate…or reincarnate for that matter? Having no concept of Heaven, from a standpoint of leaving it to come to the Earth-plane… I mean, I’ve been in Heaven, but I don’t remember it. My guess is, there was a memory block put in place to keep us from remembering what a great place it is. If we knew ahead of time what awaited us upon our arrival in Heaven, then the first time things got really difficult for us, we’d bail because we knew how great Heaven was. This would defeat the purpose of our “Earth school” experience, which we so badly wanted before we made the trip “down the tunnel”. If we knew all about the mysteries of life, where would all the wonderment we can experience have any meaning? As far as I know right now, the only way of remembering Heaven is through an NDE or near death experience. Very, VERY few of us have those. So rare are these experiences. They come back after death for a reason. Their purpose is to relate to us that there IS an afterlife and because they were “sent back”, they have a mission to tell us that there is so much more to our soul’s journey.
I believe our spirit, an experience of our soul, exists in the realm of “Pure Thought”. As the author Wayne Dyer used to say, “You can’t kill thought. Thought never dies. It keeps going in the afterlife dimension.” That said, and cutting to the chase, I think Heaven is what you think it is. If your thoughts of Heaven entail the pearly gates and streets of gold, then that is just what you may experience. If you perceive Heaven as a place where your deceased family members or spouses (or pets) meet you at the time of your passing, then THAT is what you’ll experience. If, upon your passing you really don’t have a thought of what Heaven is like, your spirit guides–however many you have–will take you by the hand and “show you around”. By the way, I think deep down everyone has a thought of what Heaven is like…they just really don’t think about it.
I believe everyone has a belief of what they think hell is like. That’s something that has been drilled into our heads since Sunday School…or TV and the movies–a place of eternal fire, burning sulfur, a red-suited guy with horns and a pitch fork, (and rap music 24/7). (if you like rap music, then substitute polkas 24/7, or fingernails on a chalkboard 24/7). A picture of hell has been painted for us as much as a picture of Heaven has been painted for us. If your idea of Heaven is Angels on clouds playing harps with St. Peter at the pearly gates and a white-bearded God who is looking through His book of deeds, (good or bad), and people milling around wearing white robes, then that is what you’ll experience upon “attaining room temperature”.
That being said, if Heaven is indeed what we choose to experience, then, for me, there’ll be Christmas lights all over the place, Christmas music playing, the smell of scotch tape (how it used to smell…there’s no smell now…) A model railroad to work on; So many pizza places to choose from; egg nog and so many Christmas cookies to eat ’till I barf; being able to see my Dad and whoever preceeded me; no pain; not needing sleep unless I wanted to; perpetual Charlie Brown snowflakes; and overall, just the feeling I used to have on Christmas morning-a feeling of anticipation and joy of seeing a lit tree and all of the presents that awaited my opening.
You may ask, “But won’t you get tired of doing the same thing over and over?” Well, I don’t think you can tire of doing or seeing something if you have no concept of time. In Heaven there is no concept of time like there is on the Earth-plane. This dimension we’re in right now is a dense and heavy dimension. Did you ever get in a project or hobby and lose all concept of time? Time is such an elusive concept. Technically, we only have the present moment. As soon as you become aware of the present moment, it’s passed, (or past). Heaven is strictly a perpetual present moment. No past, and no future. If only we could live our lives enjoying the present moment. That would make our future moments enjoyable and our past moments viewed as good memories. So, to summarize this, we need to find enjoyable things to do so that an hour can pass by and we never even noticed it passing by. I think that is what Heaven will be like. You’ll be doing enjoyable things and when you want to do something else, you will. Whatever you can imagine, you’ll do and see. Remember, thought never dies.
You may also ask, “What about my loved ones left behind?” You can be with them anytime you please. Just because they can’t see you doesn’t mean you’re not with them. I think that every time they have a thought of you, then you can also be with them. The veil is very thin, but it is a veil just the same.
Is my idea of Heaven the same as yours? Prolly not. And that’s OK. We’re all different. It might behoove you to take some time to think about what you think Heaven would be like for you. If thought never dies, then why not think about what Heaven would be like for you. It could be that is exactly what Heaven will be like for you. Don’t bother with what you think hell would be like. That’s not something you want to experience anyways. Besides, there’s no place you “can get sent to” called hell. However, hell is something you can experience once you pass. If you haven’t resolved some past regrets, “sins”, resentments, grudges, or unforgiveable acts, then you might want to revisit all of those issues now. I mean NOW. You may not have a later. I’m trying to look for the good in everything and everybody I can. Am I successful doing that? Hardly. But the key word is trying. I really want to enjoy my time in Heaven. That’s where I’ll spend eternity. I have no doubt about that. It’ll be a blast. Why? That’s what I’m picturing Heaven to be like. Why don’t you start today to picture what you want Heaven to be like for you? What can it hurt?
